Robert Aguirre was born and raised in Reedley, a small farming town in Central California. After graduating high school and junior college Robert was still undecided about a major and career. In May of 2002 he joined the Navy to earn money for college and to travel the world. It was during this time that he felt a strong call to ministry. This motivated him to continue his education. In May of 2008 Robert finished his time in the Navy with an honorable discharge and earned his B.A. degree from National University.
Upon returning home he enrolled at Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in Fresno California. There he met Roxanne Gaxiola, a marriage and family therapist student. They were married in September of 2010.
Robert has an MDiv, served as chaplain at a retirement home, pastored Cornerstone Church of the Brethren, and is just finishing four years as a care specialist at a Mennonite Brethren nonprofit. He and his family are pastor-elect for Glendale Church of the Brethren beginning in June 2019.
